Curious about how microbes are passed on, persist, or evolve over time? Join us for our next NFDI4Microbiota Coffee Talk on 28 April 2025, 14:30–15:30 CEST with Daniel Podlesny (EMBL). He'll introduce SameStr—a new tool for strain-resolved metagenomics, now available via GitHub and the CloWM platform. SameStr enables precise microbial tracking using SNVs in marker genes and has already been applied to over 120,000 metagenomic samples to study parent-infant transfer, gut stability, and therapeutic interventions like FMT. Zoom Meeting ID: 687 6408 9023 Passcode: 826218 More info here: https://lnkd.in/efmhB7Pw We look forward to seeing you there! #NFDI4Microbiota #Microbiome #Metagenomics #Bioinformatics #OpenScience #FAIRdata

NFDI4Microbiota aims to democratize access to microbiota data and high-end computational analyzes
About us
The consortium NFDI4Microbiota belongs to the national research data infrastructure NFDI e.V. and is funded by DFG. The mission of the NFDI4Microbiota consortium is to be the central hub in Germany for supporting the microbiology community with access to data, analysis services, data/metadata standards, and training. The consortium want to help researchers in microbiology (including bacteriology, virology, protistology, mycology and parasitology) to translate research data easily into a deep understanding of microbial species and their interactions on a molecular level.
