We are proud to celebrate the start of construction on the Rumble Solar Energy Center in Grady County, Oklahoma, alongside our partners at NextEra Energy Resources. It’s a milestone that reflects Sysco’s commitment to sustainability and the communities we serve. Rumble Solar will create 300 construction jobs and generate an estimated $32 million in tax revenue for the local community over the next 30 years. At the event, we were also honored to present donations to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Minco Schools, supporting local education and hunger relief efforts. • As CERAWeek fades into our rearview mirror, we’re excited to share the key takeaways driving us forward: • Speed to market is critical when planning to meet the immediate power demand growth. • Affordability is crucial when working together to meet this demand. • Modernizing the grid is essential to unlock the ability to deliver energy produced across the country. • Adopting an all forms of energy approach is required to have access to capacity when and where it is needed. http://spr.ly/60430vcUF

  • Last week, thought leaders and executives from the public and private sectors, across the globe, gathered in Houston, Texas for CERAWeek, and we were honored to be part of the conversations through the week! Our leaders Rebecca Kujawa, Michele Wheeler MBA, Michael DeBock, Rick Clark and Matt Pawlowski discussed our country’s rapidly growing demand for energy and how we can meet that demand by leveraging all forms of energy. The growing demand for energy cannot be understated - it’s unprecedented. New projections estimate power demand growth over the next 20 years will be 6x higher than in the previous two decades. This spike is largely attributed to data center growth, but it’s also driven by electrification across the U.S. economy as well as the expansion of domestic industrial and manufacturing sectors. What is clear is that we need a comprehensive approach that includes all forms of energy: renewables, storage, natural gas and nuclear energy. We need to consider how today’s investment decisions will influence customer costs over the next 30 years. We also need comprehensive grid modernization planning to be ready to respond to the demand we are seeing. Having longer-term perspectives and planning will be crucial for us all to be successful. We are at an exciting time in history – a once in a generation moment – where we need to grow and transform our power system at the same time! Yes, there are challenges ahead, but the opportunities we have are vast. We feel invigorated by the conversations we had while in Houston and cannot wait to continue to dialogue so we can attain American energy dominance and spur economic growth and innovation. #EnergyDemand #PowerDemand #Innovation #CERAWeek

Electricity demand has been a key topic at CERAWeek, and for good reason. During a panel led by Edurne Zoco PhD with Pierce Norton from ONEOK and Tim Holt from Siemens, we were asked whether this demand is real or overstated. It’s very real and has been building for some time. While electricity makes up about 5% of GDP, it’s the first 5%—economic growth depends on power availability. And as the U.S. expands its manufacturing and technology sectors, the need for power grows with it. Meeting this demand requires leveraging all forms of energy, but just as important is delivering the lowest-cost solutions that meet our customers’ speed-to-market needs. Affordability must stay top of mind for all stakeholders. We are in the middle of a major transformation in an industry essential to daily life. Embracing this opportunity, pushing innovation, and working together will be key to success. Let’s keep the momentum going and prepare for the road ahead. #CERAWeek #EnergyDemand #Collaboration #Innovation #Affordability

Energy demand is surging like never before, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. That’s why I’m here at CERAWeek, where the industry’s top minds are tackling one of the biggest challenges of our time: how to meet the estimated 160 GW of new peak demand by 2030. Yesterday, I had a number of conversations with customers, partners and other stakeholders highlighting that meeting this challenge requires an all-of-the-above strategy, leveraging renewables, storage, natural gas, and nuclear. The good news? Renewables and storage are ready to scale today at low cost and rapid speed, and gas and nuclear are critical longer-term options. Conversations like these are what make #CERAWeek so essential—bringing together industry leaders to drive pragmatic solutions. Looking forward to more great discussions on and off the stage this week.

A recent The Brattle Group report underscores the need for a diverse energy portfolio to meet the U.S.'s growing electricity demand, projected to rise 50% over the next decade. Achieving this growth reliably and cost-effectively will require contributions from all energy forms, including renewables, battery energy storage, natural gas, and nuclear. However, not all sources are economical or ready to deploy today to meet this unprecedented demand. Renewable energy sources are currently the lowest cost and fastest to deploy, with battery energy storage providing essential capacity right now. The report highlights that removing clean energy tax credits could hinder economic progress by undermining investments, increasing electric bills, eliminating jobs and reducing economic support for communities. This, in turn, negatively impacts our ability to expand our competitive advantage in AI and other technology innovations. If we want to maintain America's leadership in energy innovation, it is crucial to drive greater adoption of an all-forms-of-energy approach that utilizes low-cost, fast-to-deploy and proven renewable energy sources. #Energy #PowerDemand #Innovation
