To celebrate Kosovo’s 17th Independence Day, we surprised the preschool and first-grade students at “Rilindja” School in the village of Dritan with small gifts. “Rilindja” is one of the oldest schools in the area, opened in 1926, and it still helps children learn and grow to support our country’s future. Seeing the children’s happy faces was special, but their love for learning is the best gift for all of us. Happy Independence Day! 🎉

🔹 Driving Gender Equality in Business: Insights from Industry Leaders 🔹 At Leading the Way: The Private Sector’s Role in Women’s Economic Empowerment and Workplace Inclusion, one of the most thought-provoking moments was the Panel Discussion on Advancing Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in the Workplace, Market, and Community. 🎤 Moderated by Flora Kryeziu, Project Manager at UN Women Kosovo, the discussion provided a deep dive into how companies in Kosovo are embedding gender equality into their business strategies. Our distinguished panelists shared their real-world experiences, challenges, and achievements: ✅ Agon Gashi, CEO of Meridian Express & Board Member of the Kosovo CSR Network, reflected on Meridian’s journey as one of the first companies in Kosovo to sign the WEPs. Agon shared their initiatives to increase female representation in their workforce and in managerial positions, improving working conditions for women, and creating opportunities for middle aged women to enter the labor market. ✅ Valentina Gara, from Limak Kosovo International Airport J.S.C and Coordinator of Girls in Engineering GEG Kosovo, highlighted the impact of their award-winning program, which earned them the 2024 Kosovo CSR Award for Women’s Empowerment. She shared how GEG has helped young women enter STEM fields, breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sector. By investing in mentoring and training, LIMAK has created pathways for sustainable employment and career advancement for women in engineering. ✅ Alpin DOĞAN, CEO of KEDS, discussed the company’s four-year journey as the first WEPs signatory in Kosovo and the strategic steps taken to integrate the seven principles into their operations. KEDS has focused on increasing female participation in technical roles, leadership development programs, and policies that ensure equal opportunities. ✅ Vildane Kelmendi, Executive Director of Cacttus Education, emphasized the critical role of upskilling and mentoring in the ICT sector. She shared how they developed tailored programs to support women in technology, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to advance in their careers. She also highlighted mentorship as a key driver of success. 👏 A huge thank you to our panelists for their leadership and commitment to creating more inclusive workplaces and opportunities for women. The private sector plays a key role in shaping a future where gender equality is the norm, not the exception. This activity is part of the Workplace Equality-Women Empowerment Project implemented by the Kosovo CSR Network in partnership with UN Women. #WomenEmpowerment #GenderEquality #CSR #Sustainability #InclusiveWorkplaces #DiversityInLeadership #Kosovo
