We work to improve the health and well-being of all Granite Staters through public policy change and civic empowerment.
About us
For over 25 years, New Futures has provided nonpartisan, evidence-based solutions to New Hampshire’s health challenges. We work to build bridges among policymakers and secure the passage of laws that improve access to early childhood supports, health insurance, substance use treatment, and prevention programming. Through policy change, we can ensure that social service programs and statewide systems work for everyone—especially the populations they are designed to serve. At New Futures, we work to improve the health and well-being of all Granite Staters through public policy change and civic empowerment. We envision communities where public policies allow all New Hampshire residents equitable opportunities to live, work, and thrive. When you combine the subject matter expertise of our policy staff, who have in-depth knowledge of the legislative process and grass-tops connections in their respective fields, with community engagement support, who connect citizens to our issues and empower them to take action, and strategic communications, ensuring unified messaging and broad identification of our issues in the press and among policymakers, you have a recipe for success. Whether the aim is to pass or prevent the passage of legislation on a particular health issue, defend against cuts to critical public programs, or educate a particular group about the impact of a law or regulation, our model ensures that we make a difference and move policy forward.

The bill has a public hearing on Tuesday, April 15 at 1 pm at the State House in Room 100. 📣 TAKE ACTION to support HB 226 at https://lnkd.in/eXbTxrCN! #nhpolitics #newhampshire

SB 134 would add burdensome work requirements, creating unnecessary barriers to care and putting Granite Staters at risk of losing their coverage. A House committee will hold a public hearing on the bill on Wednesday, April 16 at 1 pm at the Legislative Office Building in Room 205. Yesterday afternoon, the New Hampshire House of Representatives voted to finalize its 2026–27 state budget proposal. New Hampshire must put People First to build a thriving state. The state budget reflects our state’s collective commitment to ensuring that every resident of New Hampshire has the opportunity to thrive, not just survive. The proposed House budget recommendations instead prioritize narrow fiscal goals over human needs. Read our full statement at new-futures.org/budget.
