English version: Recently, NVIDIA shared a project that truly impressed me: teaching American Sign Language (ASL) through a 3D avatar generated by AI. More than just a tech showcase, it’s a powerful provocation for those of us working with training and learning: Are we truly using artificial intelligence to enhance learning in an inclusive, accessible, and effective way? AI-powered avatars may still be new to many, but their benefits are clear: - High fidelity in reproducing gestures, speech, and facial expressions. - Scalable and adaptable to multiple languages and learning contexts. - Removal of cost and logistical barriers, such as in sign language education. I know it might sound obvious, but this isn’t about replacing people with robots — it’s about humanizing education by rethinking how we integrate technology. It’s not that every company needs to adopt avatars overnight, but training teams should be paying close attention to how these tools are evolving — and how their content is being delivered. Maybe the real question isn’t “when should we use AI?”, but rather: “Where can we deliver more value by using technology wisely?” In my view, this is a conversation that’s just getting started — and honestly, I want to stay close to it. Take a look at NVIDIA’s initiative 👇
ASL is the third most commonly used language in the United States, however, there are far fewer tools available for learning it than for spoken languages. Today we unveiled a new #AI platform, Signs, for teaching how to use ASL to help bridge communication gaps. Signs guides ASL learners through the process of forming words, using machine learning and computer vision to assess progress. Learn more: https://nvda.ws/4i3aUQW
