Recently, our team members attended North Carolina Department of Administration's 2025 North Carolina Procurement Excellence and Knowledge (NC PEAK) conference and presented on AI and the procurement process, terms and conditions in procurements and dashboard automation and enhancements. Thanks to Enterprise Architecture and Innovation Director Keith Briggs, Privacy Legal Advisor and Analyst Sarah Robey, Deputy Chief IT Procurement Officer Andrea Pacyna and Chief Procurement Officer James Tanzosch, CPPB, CPPO, MBA for providing thought leadership in these areas to improve procurement processes and save taxpayer money, increase efficiency and ensure information security.

Today, Governor Josh Stein announced more than $31 million in Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) program projects to connect 10,810 homes and businesses in 14 counties to high-speed internet. Projects were awarded in Avery, Beaufort, Buncombe, Cumberland, Dare, Hyde, Jones, Nash, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Swain, Transylvania, Wake and Yancey counties. This is the third set of CAB projects announced in the past few weeks, and NCDIT will continue to announce more broadband projects throughout April. https://lnkd.in/eE5n6a64

Angie Bailey, director of our Broadband Infrastructure Office, spoke at the 2025 Rural Summit this week to discuss the state’s strategy to expand high-speed internet for all North Carolinians. Broadband access is crucial in today's increasingly digital world for work, education, telemedicine and connecting with others. We presented alongside Jeff Sural, Tracey A. Our afternoon sessions at the NC IT Leadership Forum focused on critical areas for the future of our state, including strategies to reskill and uplift staff, knowledge retention and workforce transition, and the economic outlook for IT. The day ended with a thoughtful discussion on accelerating North Carolina's IT strategy featuring NCDIT Secretary and State CIO Teena Piccione and Teri Takai, Chief Programs Officer for the Center for Digital Government/Government Technology. A huge thank you to all our incredible speakers and Government Technology for making today's event a success!
