On Thursday, May 1, NADO's Economic Development District Community of Practice (EDD CoP) and the Manufacturing Community of Practice will host a webinar on the Manufacturing Community Ecosystems Metrics (MCEM) Playbook, a practical tool designed to help economic development districts assess and strengthen regional manufacturing ecosystems. The playbook was developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) and provides a framework to evaluate key areas like workforce development, supply chain resilience, and innovation, enabling regions to identify gaps and align stakeholders for targeted action. 🔗 Learn more and register online: https://lnkd.in/eWJ32DhX

Research and National Technical Assistance (RNTA) Team Lead & University Center Coordinator at U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration
The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) and the University Economic Development Association (UEDA) have published a new case study that you should definitely take a look at! "This case study examines the long-standing collaboration between the University of Oregon’s Institute for Policy Research and Engagement (IPRE) and the Northeast Oregon Economic Development District (NEOEDD). As a designated U.S. Economic Development Administration University Center, IPRE leverages university resources to assist rural and frontier communities through technical expertise, student engagement, and research. The study explores three key initiatives—Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) updates, the Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) AmeriCorps Program, and the Oregon Partnership for Disaster Resilience (OPDR) Program—which demonstrate how universities and EDDs can collaborate to promote economic capacity, disaster preparedness, and workforce development." #economicdevelopment #highereducation #collaboration #planning #disaster #workforce https://lnkd.in/ey3zbKK2
