The Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children plays a vital role in the United States’ efforts to detect, diagnose, and treat asymptomatic babies with serious medical conditions. Left undetected and untreated, these disorders may lead to premature death or lifelong disability. ADLM is calling on Congress to reinstate this committee, which helped to expand the conditions that newborn screening tests for and to ensure the accuracy of these tests and the availability of effective treatment. https://ow.ly/PWAO50VBOUl
