The City of Thousand Oaks hosted an incredible Earth & Arbor Day celebration on April 19 at the Thousand Oaks Community Center Park! Families enjoyed raffles, live music, free compost and plants to take home, and kid-friendly activities. Thousand Oaks Transit staff and our local MV management team had a blast connecting with the community and chatting about transit—all while celebrating our beautiful planet.

Our Santa Clarita maintenance team worked hard retrofitting a retired cutaway vehicle, donated by Santa Clarita Transit, into the new Library Express. This mobile library was designed to bring books, technology training, and interactive learning resources to underserved areas, including schools, parks, and senior living facilities. The team completely overhauled the vehicle—removing flooring and seats, repainting, installing TVs and shelving, upgrading mechanical systems, and adding solar panels and a retractable awning. With a fresh new wrap, the Library Express officially launched this month! MV was proud to be a partner to the communities we serve. Thank you to the MV team in Santa Clarita and our technicians for their craftsmanship and dedication to this meaningful community project!

What a power-packed day on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC! The North American Transit Alliance (NATA) Board of Directors and Management Committee came together for a full slate of impactful meetings. We discussed reauthorization priorities and championed policies that strengthen public transportation—focusing on efficiency, safety, and customer service. Grateful for the opportunity to engage with the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, Senate Banking staff, Federal Transit Administration senior leadership, and the executive team at the American Public Transportation Association.
