Last week, MS-CC had the pleasure of hosting a workshop at Wilberforce University on March 27, 2025. This workshop provided a great opportunity to engage with the community, discuss campus technology advancements, and explore grant funding opportunities. This past weekend, students and mentors from MS-CC, Shorter College, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and Philander Smith University came together for an immersive hackathon at Shorter College in North Little Rock, AR. Over the course of the event, participants explored key cybersecurity principles, analyzed real-world threats, and engaged in hands-on problem-solving. From collaboration to critical thinking, they applied their knowledge in dynamic, real-time scenarios! A huge thank you to Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) for allowing us to use their content and concept—your support helped make this experience impactful and enriching. Congratulations to the faculty and staff at Howard University for becoming the 1st HBCU to earn the R1- High Research Carnegie Classification (twice). "R1 is widely considered to be the highest research activity classification among colleges and universities in the United States. Howard University is the only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) that has achieved the R1 designation.
