Last week in Palo Alto, MongoDB employees joined an AMA with Sahir Azam, Chief Product Officer, and Tengyu Ma, co-founder of VoyageAI and now Chief AI Scientist at MongoDB. They shared the journey behind the VoyageAI acquisition, the technical challenges in retrieval that bottleneck AI applications, and how our teams are coming together to simplify how developers build trusted, scalable AI solutions. Now available: GraphRAG with MongoDB Atlas and LangChain. 🔍 If you are building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems that require reasoning over complex relationships, GraphRAG offers a graph-based alternative to traditional vector search. This integration enables: 1. Entity and relationship extraction via LLMs to create a knowledge graph in MongoDB Atlas 2. Graph traversal during query time to retrieve connected context and improve response accuracy In this tutorial, we apply GraphRAG to Wikipedia articles on Sherlock Holmes to demonstrate entity mapping, graph visualization, and query-driven insights. The system correctly identifies Robert Downey Jr. as the actor in A Game of Shadows by reasoning through linked entities, not just semantic similarity. Like Holmes, GraphRAG doesn’t just search…it deduces. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/gTBxFpVB
