MVAA is responsible for administration and operation of the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund, Michigan’s state veterans homes, constituent service or referral and the state's grant to chartered veterans service organizations and the Michigan Association of County Veterans Counselors. Michigan is honoring Vietnam War-era veterans with a special certificate. A Vietnam Veteran Recognition Certificate honors Michigan veterans for honorable service during the Vietnam War-era and is signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Adjutant General Paul D. Rogers. Happy birthday to the U.S. Air Force Reserve, founded on this day in 1948. Thank you for your service! On April 14, 1948, the Army Air Corps Reserve transferred to the United States Air Force, officially becoming the Air Force Reserve. Since the Reserve’s establishment as a separate part of the Air Force, Reservists have played vital roles in many U.S. operations including the Korean War, Vietnam and Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

The Romulus Housing Commission will open the application period to join the Public Housing Waiting List tomorrow, April 14th, at 9:00am. The waiting list will close as soon as each unit type receives 50 to 100 applicants. Military veterans and current Romulus residents will receive top priority. The only way to apply is through the online application at the following link: https://lnkd.in/esDPeJ23 Applications will not be accepted in person at the Romulus Housing Commission office or any City of Romulus offices. Income guidelines do apply.
