Lesli always gives a great talk!
Yesterday we were truly honored to host Dr. Lesli Wood, the Robert Weimer Endowed Chair in Sedimentology and Petroleum Geology (Colorado School of Mines) at KMG Engineering Astana office for her insightful and thought-provoking talk: “Seismic Geomorphology of Ancient Earthscapes – Strengthening our Perspectives of Deep Time and Clarifying Our Role in the World’s Future.” Through stunning seismic visuals and compelling examples from around the world, Dr. Wood reminded us that seismic data is more than just interpretation—it is a gateway to understanding Earth’s deep history. Her talk wove together science, storytelling, and responsibility, calling on us as geoscientists to use our understanding of the past to inform a more thoughtful and sustainable future. We are always pleased to host such inspiring events that not only foster learning, but also build meaningful connections and networking opportunities with fellow professionals across the industry. Special thanks to Dr. Fustic, Milovan, from Nazarbayev University School of Mining and Geosciences who accompanied Dr. Lesli Wood's visit and made these impactful sessions possible. Events like this strengthen our geoscience community and remind us of the shared mission we all contribute to. We hope to host more of them in the near future.
