  • The National Institutes of Health states that depression affects around 6% of seniors over 60 and up to 27% of those over 85. Although common, depression in seniors is often overlooked because symptoms can resemble age-related changes, such as fatigue, loss of appetite, and cognitive decline. Detecting these signs early on is key for effective support and greater life satisfaction.

  • Mental Health America states that approximately 60 million adults in the U.S. faced mental health concerns in the past year. During Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 6-12), we highlight the critical need for awareness and support in our communities and workplaces. Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, reminding us that 1 in 8 people around the world face these struggles, as noted by the World Health Organization. If we work together, we can connect individuals with care, promote understanding, and foster spaces where everyone feels safe to speak up.
