We seldom meet the recipients of our donations, but we hear their stories and get a sense of their gratitude that fuels our commitment year after year. The Mighty Meredith Project undeniably makes a meaningful impact on countless lives in the New England area. During this holiday season, we were fortunate to personally deliver some donations, with permission, extending warm holiday wishes, toys, and financial support to those who need it most. This week we have provided nearly $10,000 in toy donations and $11,000 in gift card support to families across the region who have fallen on hard times due to the medical care of sick child to have a meaningful holiday meal and a few gifts for the holidays. These recipients are much like any of us—hardworking families facing the added challenge of having a sick child. They juggle multiple jobs to make ends meet for the best possible medical care, or they are unable to work altogether due to their child's illness (Just like my mom with me many years ago). They graciously accept donations to provide for their families, a circumstance they would rather avoid. THEY could be any one of us. Today, we shared tears with medical care providers and parents, and we celebrated with the children. Our gratitude extends to our donors who enable the Mighty Meredith Project to exist. 🌟 The Story of Fill the Box and The Mighty Meredith Project 🌟 In the fall of 2016, a pivotal moment in Meredith’s journey sparked the Fill the Box initiative. After returning to middle school following months of medical treatment, Meredith, inspired by the kindness she had received, decided to pay it forward. Using $500 of her birthday money and gift cards, she bought more gift cards and placed a small box in her school hallway, inviting classmates to donate toys for the Pediatric Hematology Clinic where she received her initial care. That simple act of generosity grew into something extraordinary—and from it, the Mighty Meredith Project (MMP) was born. Over the years, Fill the Box has expanded far beyond its humble beginnings. Today, it provides toys and gift cards to pediatric clinics and hospital floors, especially for Neurology patients undergoing treatment.
