A year ago today, we announced our $250,000 donation to Indianapolis-based organization, Damar Services, Inc. to enhance its high-quality, affordable living community, Damar Village, designed especially for adults living with behavioral, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. On May 8, we’ll open three new supercenters in Northeast Ohio, bringing the total to 58 in the state. We’ve invested heavily in this region, and now employ about 13,000 team members in Ohio, including stores across the state and our distribution center in Tipp City. In partnership with the Greater Lansing Food Bank and Burpee Gardening, our seed donation program continues to grow and help more families and community gardens have access to fresh food. This spring, more than 42,000 seed packets will be provided through GLFB's Garden-to-Go kit program, reaching many mid-Michigan communities, including Clare, Charlotte, Harrison, Ovid/Elsie, and more. Our teams embraced the giving spirit of the holiday season by surprising hundreds of customers and team members with gift cards during our 11th annual Very Merry Meijer event. At each store across the Midwest, Meijer leaders surprised a customer with a $1,000 shopping spree, and multiple Meijer team members with gift cards.  Very Meijer Merry began in 2014 to help spread holiday cheer in stores and has grown into a beloved annual tradition across the company.
