Medical City Healthcare reposted this
Yesterday, Medical City Healthcare hosted at Medical City Las Colinas School Nurse Directors from nearly 30 districts in North Texas. We discussed a recap of this school year's campaign which included: - Education to 1,454 school nurses from 38 school districts. - They learned from our physicians and specialists in Dermatology, Diabetes, Trauma in schools and Mental Health. - From evaluations, 90.3% of the nurses specified a change they will implement in their professional practice based on the content presented. The second part of the meeting was to discuss what topics they would like next school year and to announce our community partner joining us in next school year's campaign, American Red Cross. Medical City Healthcare stands committed to supporting school nurses with the many challenges they face. #WeShowUp #HugASchoolNurse

During Occupational Health Nurses (OHN) Week, Medical City Healthcare is proud to spotlight the critical role occupational health nurses play in promoting and protecting workforce health. Occupational health nurses establish and implement guidelines to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses and promote healthy work environments. Please join us in thanking Employee and Occupational Health Nurses for their commitment to the care and improvement of human life. #CareLikeFamily #OHNWeek

The American College of Cardiology recently released clinical guidance on quickly diagnosing and treating patients in cardiogenic shock. This life-threatening condition occurs when the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s demands, most often triggered by a severe heart attack or heart failure. The new guidance “codifies what people who are thought leaders in this space have been preaching for quite some time,” says Claudius Mahr, DO, executive director of Medical City Healthcare’s Institute for Advanced Cardiac Care. Research led by Song Li, MD, also with the institute, and Dr. Mahr helped contribute to this science. Read more: https://bit.ly/4cl2iDQ
