Updates

  • Join us in recognizing Christiane, who received kudos from a patient's family: I’m at the hospital frequently for my grandparents. I’ve ran into Christiane several times and each and every single time she’s always so cheerful and greets me with a beautiful smile that’s contagious! I really look forward to going to the hospital and running into her! She makes several others feel this way as well, our family has nothing but good things to say about her and we have witnessed plenty of other people that enjoy her presence! Thank you for choosing such an amazing employee to work for the hospital!

  • Rebecca, a nurse in Family Birth Place was honored with a Guardian Angel award: "Rebecca is such a great nurse, and she truly cares about her patients. She is an advocate and ensures that her patient's wishes are respected and followed. Thank you, Rebecca, for being so kind, loving, and empathetic." Guardian Angel Awards are given to our staff through the nomination of past patients and their caregivers or families. These staff members are often recognized for going above and beyond to relieve pain, listening to patient needs, making them comfortable or even saving a life. While no thanks are necessary, a gift to the McLaren Port Huron Foundation is a meaningful way to thank your doctor, nurse or other staff, and honor the work they do. The Guardian Angel nomination form is available online: https://lnkd.in/g-NK-EBV

  • Congratulations Melissa Davis, a nurse on 6 North, our Employee of the Month! She was selected based on two nominations received from a patient and the family of another patient. Thank you Melissa for all that you do! “I came here very broken via EMS from Sacred Heart rehab, with COPD complications. I was trying my best to stop using at 63 years old. I was sick and depressed. Then out of nowhere comes this nurse that ended up being an angel straight out of heaven. I’m so sure that God himself sent her to me. She was so kind, so smart with a big sweet smile! She took the best care of me ever! I am so, so sure that she is a big part of making me not only better but she had so much love in her heart that she will be a big part of me being able to stay clean and stay off drugs. She is a big help in my recovery. Please help me thank her for all she has done for me.” The family member of another patient noted: “Melissa is one of a kind that goes above and beyond. She truly cares and listens to the patient and parents’ concerns. When others wouldn’t take our concerns seriously, Melissa did. She cared about our daughter as if she was her own.”
