Congratulations to the Wake Tech Public Safety Simulation Complex project team and our partners at CLH design, p.a., Boomerang Design, and McKim & Creed, Inc. for receiving the 2025 ACEC Grand Conceptor Award! 🎉 This reality-based simulation center is setting a new standard for hands-on training in law enforcement, emergency medical services, and unmanned aerial operations. The 77,824-square-foot facility features a 4D immersive interior training village and a two-story downtown street replica to support realistic emergency response scenarios. The facility incorporates ASHRAE's high-performance control strategies to deliver exceptional energy efficiency through intelligent system operation. Paired with rooftop solar, it significantly reduces reliance on off-site power generation—lowering both energy costs and environmental impact. The project earned GBI's Three Green Globes certification, a testament to its sustainability achievements.
