Meet Seven – a young chef whose passion for cooking has helped her through her toughest moments. 💙   Diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure, Seven endured exhausting treatments and hospital stays. “There were times when she couldn’t walk. She couldn’t eat. She couldn’t go to school.” – Natalie, Seven’s mom   But through it all, Seven never lost her smile. She found comfort in the kitchen, cooking alongside her mom. This weekend I had the privilege of participating in my fifth Trailblaze Challenge benefiting Make-A-Wish® South Carolina. The Trailblaze Challenge is a 22+ mile, one day hike that raises money to grant the wishes of critically ill children. Why is the wish experience so important? Research has shown that granting a wish can have a profound impact on a child’s health, both mentally and physically. The excitement and joy of a wish can boost a child’s mood and outlook, often making them more willing to comply with their treatment plans. This positive mindset can lead to better health outcomes and a stronger, more resilient spirit. ⭐ Interested in learning more or getting involved? Crossed off another Trailblaze Challenge this weekend for Make-A-Wish® South Carolina. For the last 16 weeks, myself and dozens of other hikers have been training to take on the challenge. The 22+ mile, one day hike raises money for children with critical illnesses. The hike has many similarities to what a Wish family experiences and culminates with picking a star necklace with a Wish child on it and carrying it across the finish line.

Nolan took center stage for his wish day! 🎶🎤 From the poster makers and set-up crew to Nolan’s bandmates, his mom, Jennifer, thanks each WishMaker for supporting Nolan in his hardest moments. “I was amazed by all the people that came together.
