Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI)'s recent report, "The Role of Companion Animals for Improved Mental Health," highlights insights on the mental health challenges uniquely faced by veterinary professionals and the critical support veterinary social workers provide to pet caregivers. As part of our efforts to increase access to high-quality veterinary care and advance our purpose—A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS—last fall, we announced a grant to Shelters United to enable the development of a Veterinarian of Record (VOR) training. Today, it became available as a free resource for the profession, making it easier for veterinarians interested in giving back to their local communities to become VORs, so pets receive the care they need while awaiting adoption.    For more on Shelter United's free RACE-approved course, check out the link below and visit the Shelters United booth at #WVC.
