In her role as a #WishMaker, Lauren helps plan and coordinate wish stays at her resort. With a personal passion for serving others, she delights in creating an unforgettable experience for wish kids and their families. "I have a huge passion and heart for serving, so when I learned we had a Make-a-Wish stay coming to our resort, I was more than eager to get involved and create an unforgettable experience for both the child, and their family," she shares. "My favorite part is getting to work alongside the resort team and the community as we cultivate a unique, personal experience fit just for the child and family."

Congratulations to Jason Viernes on his recent promotion to Director of Safety & Security at The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas! 👏 10 years ago, Jason started his career with MVW as an Overnight Safety & Security Officer at The Westin Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort Villas. With diligent work and great dedication, he rose to the role of Safety & Security Manager at his current resort. Jason’s commitment and leadership earned him the Leader of the Year award at his property in 2024, an achievement that paved the way for his well-deserved promotion to Director of Safety & Security. His advice for others looking to grow in their own career is "Seek opportunities for others to pour into you and also take opportunities to pour into others. You can always learn a thing or two; as well as teach a thing or two."

Last week, MVW's Resort Operations Corporate Team hosted their second Town Hall of 2025! Troy Asche, SVP of Americas Resort Operations, welcomed corporate leaders to chat about updates in Global Technology, training and development, our Company's modernization journey, and more. Throughout this series, we plan to connect, communicate, and build a community with our resort leaders as we share business updates, progress towards strategic objectives, celebrate accomplishments, and deliver insights about what is to come.

In her role as an IRM Project Specialist, Drisana assists in sourcing and confirming available resort inventory for requested wish stays. When asked what motivated her to become a WishMaker, she shares, "My desire to give back! I was blessed with the opportunity to bring happiness and hope to children facing challenging circumstances. I recognize how overwhelming a child's illness can be for families, so any opportunity to bring joy and relief is an honor. "

Honoring a legacy while supporting future hospitality leaders. 💙 Last fall, Marriott Vacations Worldwide awarded two students with scholarships from the Michael Best Memorial Endowed Scholarship to pursue their dreams in the hospitality industry at University of South Carolina-Beaufort. The scholarship funds are raised during an annual golf tournament in honor of Michael Best, a long-time MVW associate, who sadly passed in October of 2020. The fundraising continues to strengthen the endowment, ensuring future hospitality students have the support to learn about the industry Michael loved. "After Michael’s passing, I felt an immediate need to honor his legacy. I knew that the best way to do this was to organize a golf tournament in his name. This idea soon evolved into a scholarship fund at the USCB Hospitality campus here on Hilton Head. One of the most rewarding moments came during last year’s tournament, when we were able to grant our first two scholarships." - Massimo Santangelo, General Manager of Marriott's Grande Ocean

This month, it’s been our honor to spotlight the incredible #WomenOfMVW! As we wrap up Women's History Month, we're happy to feature Dione L., VP of Resort Operations & Customer Experience. With 30 years of experience at Marriott Vacations Worldwide, Dione prioritizes celebrating her successes, building resilience, and staying true to her values, advising future female leaders to do the same. When asked what Women's History Month means to her, Dione shares, "It is a time to honor and recognize the impactful contributions of women throughout history. They have been pivotal in shaping our communities, economies, traditions, and scientific advancements, overcoming notable obstacles in their paths."
