We were excited to welcome Chief Product Officers (CPOs), Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and other product development leaders from our portfolio companies to this year’s Marlin Europe Product Development Summit earlier this month. The summit provided a mix of actionable insights, peer connections, and innovative ideas to help our leaders take their products and companies to the next level. This year, we focused on three key themes: 1. Product Strategy: How do top SaaS companies align their product strategies with business goals? With Bain & Company, we explored the critical roles of the CPO and CTO in strategy development, their interaction with the broader C-level team, and practical approaches to maintaining focus and achieving product-market fit, followed by interactive sessions on identifying customer pain points with Amazon Web Services (AWS). A case study from Gary Bennion at our portfolio company Haiilo provided insights into their successful approach. 2. Engineering for Scale and Security: How do you build secure, flexible products at scale? Unleash came to share best practices for feature management and how it can improve reliability and help scaling, while Zscaler explored how zero-trust architecture can strengthen product security without compromising usability. 3. Generative AI: What does GenAI mean for software development today? We explored cutting-edge applications and trends with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Seedcloud, and an impressive case study from Florian Gessner at our portfolio company TIS (Treasury Intelligence Solutions) showcased how GenAI is already transforming codebases—reducing development time and improving efficiency. The event combined insightful talks, hands-on sessions, and networking opportunities, creating a collaborative environment where ideas were exchanged freely, and participants left with actionable takeaways to implement in their own organizations.
