🎸 “They never sold out. They did things their own way.” —Edward Hall, director of Sunny Afternoon The Kinks were loud, defiant, unapologetically authentic — and they changed rock forever. Now playing at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Sunny Afternoon captures the rise of The Kinks in a visceral musical that hits like a rock concert. Featuring iconic hits like You Really Got Me, Lola, and Waterloo Sunset, played live on vintage guitars, amps cranked, the show blurs the line between moving drama and full-blown gig — with plenty of chandelier-swinging rockstar energy.🤘 🎟️ Onstage through April 27 at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Read more about why the show is a must-see in Brooke G. McDonald’s story through the link below and snag tickets at chicagoshakes.com. https://lnkd.in/e2fVqTaC
