About us
MACDC is the policy and capacity-building arm of the community development movement in Massachusetts, which fundamentally aims to work with low- and moderate-income individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth. As our mission states: "The Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC) is an association of mission-driven community development organizations dedicated to working together and with others to create places of opportunity where people of diverse incomes and backgrounds access housing that is affordable, benefit from economic opportunities and fully participate in the civic life of their community. We achieve this by building and sustaining a high performing and adaptive community development sector that is supported by private and public investment and sound public policies." Founded in 1982, MACDC currently has 90 members, including 60 CDC members and 30 associate members.

Have you hosted your #DonutsWithDelegates yet? Tell us how it went!
Yesterday's Breakfast with our Delegates was a huge success! 🥞✨ We were thrilled to have City Councilor Ben Weber, Carlos Rios, Chief of Staff to State Rep Montano, and Senator Liz Miranda join us for an open and meaningful dialogue. Together, we brainstormed ways to create more affordable housing, strengthen tenant protections, and support small businesses in the Greater Boston area, with a special focus on our beloved Jamaica Plain. We're grateful for these inspiring conversations and the dedication to building a better future for our community! Liz Miranda Samantha Montaño MACDC - Mass. The team at MACDC could not be more excited to have a partner like Rep. Andy Vargas in support of our state's small and micro businesses. Congrats to you, Mr. Chairman, and let's get to work!
Honored to have been appointed Chair of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses! I am grateful to Speaker Ron Mariano and my colleagues for their trust and confidence in leading the committee. Massachusetts has over 700,000 small businesses that employ over 1.5 million people. Our small businesses are vital to a vibrant economy and they need our support now more than ever. Our downtowns across the Commonwealth are changing and require innovative approaches to community development that will strengthen the resilience and growth of our local economies. I'm excited to get to work!
