LAEP is proud that our Director of Evaluation, Accountability, and Impact, Rosa Valdes, Ph.D., participated in the impactful “Lifting up parents’ and providers’ voices and experiences” event by the RAPID Survey Project (Stanford Center on Early Childhood). Rosa found it incredibly valuable to learn about RAPID’s work in elevating the real-world experiences of parents and providers, crucial insights that inform effective policies and programs for young children nationwide. Understanding these voices is paramount for us at LAEP as we strive to ensure every child in Los Angeles has the opportunity to thrive. #EarlyChildhoodEducation #LAEP #PartnerwithLAEP #StanfordRAPID

Transforming education for the community, with the community, from diapers to diplomas.
About us
Founded in 1984, LAEP is a nonprofit organization that advances educational equity. Together with families, schools and the community, LAEP facilitates access to and opportunities for quality educational and wellness practices so that children thrive from diapers to diplomas. LAEP focuses on two areas that consistently demonstrate positive impact on student achievement: • Transforming schools to expand the capacity of educators, students, and community to share responsibility for producing college and career ready graduates and sustainable change. • Reaching children in early childhood to promote their healthy development and build parents’ capacity to prepare their children for success in school. We believe six core elements must be present for schools to be successful: -High-Quality Instruction -Teacher Leadership & Collaboration -College and Career Readiness -Parents as Partners -Youth Empowerment -Educational Equity

Happy Cesar Chavez Day! Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot un-educate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore. Cesar Chavez Address to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, Nov. 9, 1984 Cesar Chavez

Yesterday was a powerful day of learning and exchange as we hosted the East and Southern Africa Conrad N. Hilton Foundation team at Los Angeles Education Partnership! We shared best practices in early childhood workforce development through our Ready2Teach program. We were on the ground, visiting Family Child Care homes and LAEP‘s Early Head Start site, connecting with employer partners, participants, and some of our LAEP business consultants. Real conversations, real impact. Congratulations on the amazing leadership from our Ready2Teach Director, Elsa Leal, and her team! We're excited to share a detailed write-up about this impactful collaboration very soon! We believe you'll find the insights valuable and inspiring. Stay tuned for the full story. In the meantime visit LAEP.org to learn about all of our programs and partnerships. #EarlyChildhoodEducation #HiltonFoundation #LAEP #PartnerwithLAEP
