I got to do the director's cut for Nick Martini's Carhartt x Luke Grimes piece! Since the story in this one is about Grimes' relationship to his working-class roots, the sound needed to feel organic and weathered. Lots of old metal sounds in this one! Also, is chopping wood not one of the most satisfying sounds in the world? I had to do it justice, so I broke each chop down into pieces: the axe hit, wood crack, logs falling, and small debris are all separate elements so that each one sounds right.
