💙💚 In celebration of April’s National #DonateLife Month, Hennepin Healthcare, in partnership with LifeSource and Lions Gift of Sight held a special flag raising ceremony honoring donor families and recipients. Today the Donate Life flag was raised outside of our Purple Building and will remain for the entire month to honor and recognize donors who have given the gift of life. This year, we are grateful to have living kidney donor Phillip Terrill and his recipient wife, Cherida Terrill raise the flag. This flag reminds us that love lives on in the legacy of the donor, healing for their family, and new life and second chances for the recipients 💙💚

Making donation happen takes an entire network of people. The care teams in the hospital that support families as their loved one becomes a donor, are nothing short of amazing. And, although they may not ever see that family again, they will always be remembered as an important part of the story when their loved one's last act on earth was to save someone else's life.
