Over the past 18 months, Minnesota-based CDMO Lifecore Biomedical has moved from being a food business to a pure-play sterile injectable fill-finish CDMO. To support its transition, the company announced the installation of a high-speed, GMP-ready five-head isolator filler to double its production capacity and target USD 130 mn revenue for its 2025 fiscal year. The company hopes that the expansion will attract larger pharmaceutical clients, with fill-finish capacity that has increased from 20 million to 45 million units annually, positioning the company to serve the growing GLP-1 injectables market. At the time of writing, Lifecore already has 25 active projects in its pipeline representing USD 100-200 mn in commercial revenue potential, with new business opportunities with an increased number of multinational pharmaceuticals.
