The Leapfrog Group is proud to introduce a new program through the Leapfrog Judie Burrows Education Institute: a learning collaborative—supported in part by AARP—created to assist hospitals that serve a disproportionately high number of low-income and uninsured patients. Leading the initiative as Curriculum Director is Dr. Ron Wyatt, MD, MHA, Former and first Patient Safety Officer at The Joint Commission and former Chief Quality Officer at Cook County Health and Senior Fellow, IHI. Dr. Wyatt is an internationally recognized expert in patient safety, healthcare quality, and reducing disparities in care. “This learning collaborative represents a significant step forward in making patient safety a priority across all hospitals, especially those serving our most vulnerable populations. By addressing PE/DVT prevention first, we are tackling a critical issue that directly impacts patient safety,” Dr. Wyatt said.
