Bioscience Advocacy in Action at the Capitol! A productive Bio Day took place yesterday at the Oregon Capitol, bringing together industry leaders and passionate advocates to spotlight Oregon's thriving bioscience sector. Heather Ellis, OBI/OTRADI Executive Director, had the valuable opportunity to testify at a hearing and engage directly with lawmakers, sharing compelling stories of innovation and growth happening across the state. We appreciate the dedication of our participating members who helped make meaningful connections with Senators and Representatives: Mark Brady, Liisa Bozinovic, John Harkness, Ph.D., Michael Wallisch, Aditi Martin, Tim Layton, Caitlin Vargas, Worapol (Boom) Ngamcherdtrakul, and Jacques Zaneveld. For the past 10+ years, Demian has been a marketing manager for surgical technologies developed by industry leaders Medtronic, Karl Storz Endoscopy, and Boston Scientific. After partnering with Lazarus 3D in previous roles, he is now leading our mission with Skill-Sure to accelerate the learning curve for surgical procedures and inspire new users to operate with confidence. “Lazarus 3D is unique in that we are FDA-cleared and have patents around the 3D printing process and the materials we use to create the most realistic simulated tissue for surgical training available. Current training options, such as human cadavers or animal tissue models, have their limitations, especially in terms of cost, convenience, and availability. Our customized models can be effective for medical device companies that want to train their field teams and new users, and for surgical residency programs that are interested in speeding up the learning curve for their doctors.”
