Let's face it, having conversations around compliance and mitigating risks are not glamorous topics but they are needed to ensure as HR professionals we remain up to date with policies, audits while engaging our leaders and employees. Here are a few key takeaways from our event on 1/30: 📖 Review your employee handbook annually and alert your employees through clear and thorough communication on any updates in real time 🚩 Stay compliant with your local and state level guidelines 🔎 Manage and audit your 1-9 records, these records need to kept in a separate location and to calculate retention visit: https://lnkd.in/g_4N4GHS ⏰ Stay up to date with OSHA, sexual harassment, retirement trainings, tap into recognition opportunities to engage employees as they showcase positive behavior based on trainings they have learned 💬 Stay ahead of legal changes, having a strong partner in this space is key to be proactive in what is coming down the pipeline 🚦 Start and or continue to engage and train employees effectively Meybel closed out our session with the following powerful statement incorporating each attendees one word for the year to help inspire connection and focus: "Let's be present, practice empathy and amplify this year so we can be innovative and elevate ourselves, our workplaces and our lives.
