At the end of March, Joshua Mertz, LaMotte's Director of R&D represented LaMotte at the Appoquinimink School District STEM Festival. The STEM Festival annually invites companies to provide lessons and demonstrations for kids aged 5-12 years. Dr. Mertz demonstrated LaMotte's SpinTouch® technology and taught kids about pH using LaMotte's Wide Range pH Test Strips. Students were asked to make a hypothesis about which colorless liquid (Water, Vinegar, Lemon-Lime Soda, and Water with Baking Soda) had the most protons (lowest pH, highest acidity). Kids then were able to test their hypotheses using the pH test strips and comparing them to the LaMotte color chart. Each participating student was provided a token of the first element (hydrogen) to remind them that the more protons you have, the more acidic something is, and, like a proton, we always want to Be Positive! A Big Splash at WATERPHILIPPINES EXPO with Dakila Trading Corporation! 💧 It’s a wrap at Water Philippines 2025! The first photo remains my favorite—it captures the vibrant energy and camaraderie of the DAKILA TRADING CORPORATION team. Even after long hours, their smiles and laughter never faded. That spirit was infectious. Over a few exciting days at the Water Philippines Exhibition, I had the pleasure of joining our incredible partner, DAKILA TRADING CORPORATION, at their buzzing booth where we showcased LaMotte’s latest water testing innovations. From live demonstrations of our WaterLink® Spin Touch® Photometer to in-depth conversations about colorimeters, turbidimeters, and test reagents, the engagement and energy from the attendees were phenomenal.
