  • Across KANA, staff stood together in recognition of Go Blue Day, joining a movement that stretches far beyond our walls. It’s a movement rooted in care—for the safety, well-being, and strength of every child in our communities. Child abuse prevention is more than a campaign—it’s a responsibility we all share. By participating in Go Blue Day, we’re honoring that shared responsibility and the generations who came before us, who always believed in protecting what’s most precious: our children. 💙Quyanaasinaq to all who showed up in blue today, and to everyone working year-round to create safe, loving spaces where our children can grow up strong, connected, and cared for.💙 #GoBlueDayAK #GoBlueDay #ChildAbusePreventionMonth

  • April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to increase awareness, take action, and stand together to protect the most vulnerable members of our community — our children. 💙 Each year, KANA joins this nationwide campaign to shine a light on how we can all play a role in creating safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive. At KANA’s Kodiak Child Advocacy Center (CAC), children who have experienced abuse or are in high-risk situations receive support, advocacy, and healing. 💙 Did you know the pinwheel has become the national symbol of Child Abuse Prevention Month? It represents hope, resilience, and our shared commitment to ending child abuse and neglect. This Friday, KANA’s CAC and the MDT will plant its annual pinwheel garden outside the Alutiiq Enwia Building, located at 3449 Rezanof Drive East. Each pinwheel will represent a child who has been served by the CAC since its opening in 2012 — a powerful visual reminder of both the seriousness of this issue and the hope we all share for brighter futures. This April, we invite you to: ✔ Join us on Go Blue Day (April 4) by wearing blue to show your support ✔ Keep an eye out for the pinwheel garden later this month ✔ Learn the signs of abuse, prevention strategies, and how you can help For resources, please visit: https://lnkd.in/eDxm3G8 Together, we can protect children and strengthen families — this month and every month. #ChildAbusePreventionMonth #PinwheelsForPrevention

  • Caring for our people is woven into who we are. At KANA, our doctors meet us where we are, listen with care, and walk alongside us as partners in our health. They choose to serve here, not just as providers, but as members of our community—people who understand the importance of connection, trust, and care that extends beyond the walls of a clinic. We see them at the grocery store, at school events, and out in the community. They are our neighbors, our friends, and an essential part of what makes Kodiak home. A choice made with purpose—to care for our people in the place we all love and call home. Today, on National Doctor’s Day, we say Quyanaa. Thank you for the knowledge you share, the trust you build, and the care you provide every day. Join us in celebrating our doctors—drop a Quyanaa or a 🩺 in the comments to show your appreciation! 💙

  • 🌟 Celebrating Community and Wellness in Akhiok! 🌿 Meet Glyndaril White Jr., our dedicated Village Wellness Activity Coordinator, who has just completed his first 90 days in this vital role! Glyndaril has brought an incredible energy to Akhiok, inspiring both the youth and adults to engage more actively in their wellness journeys. Here's what Glyndaril has to say about his experience: "It has been an absolute pleasure doing this job even though it does not feel like a job. I enjoy letting the youth and whatever adults want to get together and be active in the village. I enjoy having the chance to be impactful in peoples lives in a positive manner. I really cant wait for the summer to get here so we as a community can do so much more together. This past week was by far the busiest with it being Alutiiq week, and it was still just as fun and enjoyable." Let’s give a big shout-out to Glyndaril for his passion and hard work! Here’s to many more days of wellness and community bonding in Akhiok. 🎉 #AkhiokStrong #CommunityWellness

  • ♻️ Global Recycling Day – Honoring Our Lands & Waters ♻️ Recycling in Kodiak and our villages isn’t just about waste—it’s about respecting and protecting the lands and waters that sustain us. 🌊🌿 As a Tribal health organization, we recognize that taking care of our environment means taking care of our people. Today is a great reminder to: 🔄 Be mindful of what we throw away 🌿 Choose reusable over disposable 🚢 Support local recycling and backhaul efforts Recycling may look different in rural Alaska, but the impact is just as important. What’s one thing you do to reduce waste? Drop your favorite recycling or upcycling tip in the comments! ♻️👇 #GlobalRecyclingDay #RespectOurLandsAndWaters #ReduceReuseRecycle #KeepingKodiakClean
