Yesterday, more than 30 Keolis managers participated in a “Fare is Fair” event helping Commuter Rail passengers prepare for the upcoming installation of fare gates at South Station this summer, followed by Back Bay this fall. Keolis has brought industry-leading fare collection efforts to the MBTA Commuter Rail system, including leading the successful installation of fare gates at North Station in 2022. We have also implemented new tools and technologies around fare collection, resulting in record levels of ticket scans and checks while making it significantly easier for passengers to purchase tickets.

This week, the MBTA and Keolis officially began the procurement to electrify the Fairmount Line, putting out a request for proposals for a battery-train manufacturer. The new trains will provide faster, quieter, more reliable service with notably less air pollution, to the environmental justice communities served by the line. At Keolis, we are excited to have achieved this important milestone toward a greener, more sustainable future for the communities we serve. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ec_i2zwk
