About us

Founded by American sports pioneer Lamar Hunt as a charter franchise of the American Football League in 1960 as the Dallas Texans, the team relocated to Kansas City in 1963 and became known as the Chiefs. Under the leadership of the Hunt family, the club has reached professional football’s ultimate summit four times, earning victories in Super Bowl IV (1969 season), Super Bowl LIV (2019 season), Super Bowl LVII (2022 season) and Super Bowl LVIII (2023 season). Back-to-back titles following the 2022 and 2023 seasons puts the Chiefs in elite company, marking just the ninth time in NFL history that a franchise repeated as world champions. As one of the most successful franchises of the past dozen years, Kansas City owns the most regular season wins (128) and has the most playoff appearances (10) of all NFL teams since Head Coach Andy Reid joined the club in 2013. Off the field, the Chiefs proudly boast five Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recipients, tying for the most among any franchise in the league, highlighting the club’s commitment to the community. GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the Chiefs, is one of the most iconic venues in all of professional sports. As the Guinness World Record holder for loudest crowd roar at an outdoor sports venue, the stadium seats approximately 73,000 fans. Over the past decade, the club’s Arrowhead Events business has made the stadium an entertainment destination that serves the entire Midwest region with concerts, international soccer matches, college football games and motorsports events. GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will host matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Kansas City serving as one of 16 North American host cities for the global soccer tournament. The entire Chiefs family operates with four core values as part of its mission: Win with Character, Unite our Community, Inspire our Fans, and Honor Tradition. Welcome to Chiefs Kingdom!

  • In honor of Jim Thorpe Day yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming Jim Thorpe’s granddaughter, Mary Thorpe, who shared powerful stories about his enduring legacy and family traditions with our staff. We also hosted an inspiring event for youth from local tribes, focused on education, wellness and sports – empowering them to dream big and believe that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible.

  • This season, we set a new record for events at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, and none of it would be possible without the hardworking Event Staff who bring the stadium to life. To close out the year, we introduced Chiefs Prom: Sneakers & Sparkles—a night filled with music bingo, trivia, a packed dance floor, and special recognition for those who make the GEHA Field at Arrowhead experience so special.
