“Teaching is my 3rd career!” LaDonna Smith was a dental hygienist and a licensed hairstylist before stepping into her current role as an educator. She attended LSU Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry, then returned to earn her pre-med chemistry degree. LaDonna feels that this is her calling because she is deeply dedicated to her work, her students, and to being a lifelong learner. Gloria Garcia serves as an ESL Paraprofessional at Bonnabel High School, where she brings heart and dedication to her role every day. From a young age, Gloria knew she wanted to work with youth. Before joining the education field, she worked as a certified court interpreter, but she felt called to do something more fulfilling—so she followed her passion into the classroom. Now, Gloria plays a vital role in helping students learn English as a second language, building their confidence and supporting their growth. She finds joy in watching her students progress year after year and takes pride in the impact she makes.
