Yesterday, GD-OTS and the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments & Ammunition commemorated an exciting milestone for the U.S. Army and its munitions industrial base where we proudly marked the expansion and modernization of U.S. 155mm artillery load, assemble, and pack production. This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without strong Government and Industry partnerships across multiple entities within the Department of Defense, U.S. Army, Congress, Arkansas community, and our employees. Congratulations to our government partners and industry teammates on the ribbon-cutting of a new load, assemble and pack facility for 155 mm high explosive artillery projectiles! “The Army must transform and get war-winning capabilities into the hands of Soldiers now, including key munitions. The Camden load, assembly, and pack munitions facility is just one of several modernization investments the Army is making to reinforce and strengthen our defense industrial base,” said Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll. “The Army remains committed to delivering relevant munitions at speed and scale to our Soldiers, the joint force, and allies and partners. It is not lost on us that a key component of victory on the battlefield starts in our production facilities.”

This edition of Faces of the Force highlights Brian Hubbard, the Environmental Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) Manager for the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments & Ammunition (JPEO AA). Since joining JPEO in 2017, he has worked to advocate for armaments within Army and DOD policies, identify research programs, and address current and future ESOH challenges that could impact program effectiveness and delivery to the warfighter. “This program has had a positive impact on my career. It has helped me to use the tools learned in the course and take steps to be more proactive, seek collaboration opportunities and leverage the power of teams to address not only today’s but also tomorrow’s challenges in my job.” Dive into his insights on the importance of maintaining an open mind and actively seeking out opportunities for collaboration: http://spr.ly/6047FdPQP. 🔗👤🤝 #FacesoftheForce #CareerOpportunities #TrainingOpportunities #Teamwork

Expansion of the defense industrial base to increase production of 155mm M795 High Explosive projectiles took a major step forward with the delivery of the first lot of projectile shell bodies from IMT (Ontario, Canada). IMT is now in serial production of this critical munition from their new production line purpose built for 155mm projectiles. The projectile shell bodies will be delivered to the final step of production (explosive filling and final acceptance) at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
