CFI Innovation Dinner: Costs and Collaboration Center for Innovation in Design and Construction (CFI) hosted another successful innovation dinner, bringing together construction industry leaders for an evening of knowledge sharing and networking at DPR Construction's Redwood City office. Collaboration in Preconstruction This special event was co-hosted by two leading construction technology platforms—Join and Ediphi—focusing on the critical preconstruction phase where key project decisions are made. Attendees enjoyed a delicious Greek dinner while engaging with cutting-edge innovations shaping our industry's future. We recently signed up and are utilizing a software called Join. It's really helping us track our VE and major decisions through our pricing efforts. A few weeks ago I was afforded the opportunity to speak with the 5th graders at my son's school on Career Day. My presentation was more conversational - a quick overview on my job, touched on other paths in construction (trades, other CM roles), and then let the kids ask away. I was impressed with the questions they asked and how perceptive they were. It was a fun experience and I appreciate the offer to come again next year. What I didn't expect were thank you notes from some of them. It's such a privilege to do outreach with kids, but this one was extra special. Hope to see you out there one day E!
