We’re building quiet, all-electric aircraft to connect people like never before.
About us
Joby is a California-based company building quiet, all-electric aircraft to connect people like never before. Quiet as a conversation and with the ability to take off and land vertically, the Joby aircraft will change the way we move while reducing the acoustic and climate footprint of flight.

Our aircraft is on display at the California Science Center in downtown LA through the weekend - come see the future of flight! We're incredibly excited to bring our service to the LA market, and yesterday welcomed nearly 500 people to watch a screening of the IMAX film 'Cities of the Future' and hear from our founder and CEO JoeBen Bevirt. Thank you to everyone who joined us at CSC!

We’ve surpassed 40,000 miles flown across our fleet of electric air taxis — an achievement powered by thousands of vertical take-offs and landings, and hundreds of seamless transitions from hover to cruise. Our tech is mature. Our progress is real. And our vision is backed by American ingenuity. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e5PefwTH

We had a terrific time showcasing our aircraft at Vertical Aviation International's VERTICON 2025! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see our electric air taxi and speak with our expert team of pilots and engineers about how Joby is creating the future of flight.

In January, we delivered our second aircraft to DoD customers at Edwards Air Force Base. This historic lakebed is where Chuck Yeager first broke the sound barrier in the Bell X-1, and where the Enterprise space shuttle prototype completed a series of approach and landing flight trials. It's an honor for us to conduct testing of our electric air taxi on this hallowed ground.

Building an aircraft that can hover, or an aircraft that can fly on its wing, is hard — but transitioning between the two is much harder. Since 2017, we've demonstrated that our aircraft can smoothly transition from one mode of flight to the other, combining the flexibility of a helicopter with the efficiency of a fixed-wing aircraft. This footage comes from multiple aircraft flying in multiple U.S. states and countries, demonstrating transition flight over and over and over again — making an incredibly hard engineering problem into a routine, everyday reality that benefits people and the planet.
