One year ago this week, my sister and co-founder Amanda Roessler launched a company to make the invisible visible. Jam Family Calendar launched on the App Store, Google Play store and the web as a solution for families looking to lessen the mental load and streamline the chaotic logistics of modern family life. We wanted to take all the information that was typically living solely in mom’s brain…and give it a better place to live. Where it took up less room and where everyone else could see it too. In the past year, our Jam community has accomplished a LOT. 🗓️ 365,000 events put into Jam ✅ 50,000 To Do List items completed in Jam 🛒 36,000 Shopping List items shopped  ⏰ 100,000+ minutes saved using Jam On It But here's the invisible reality underneath those numbers…and what really matters: 💪 We helped families work as a team. 😌 We reduced mental load for parents, especially female partners who take on a disproportionate burden of this work and suffer the mental health consequences. 📢 We improved communication between partners. 🚗 We saved kids from being forgotten at carpool. 🏅 We made sure sports uniforms made it to the game. ⚡ We helped get meals on tables, birthday gifts bought, and chores handled. To every parent and caregiver out there: We honor the hard work you’re doing every day. We're cheering you on. Taking your suggestions. Celebrating every small win. Because on days like this, all those small things add up to something big. And we're just getting started. Here's to another year of making the invisible visible. And to all of you who made it possible, THANK YOU! As all of us know, it takes a village and we’re so happy to have you in ours.  ** Jam Family Calendar is an all-in-one family management platform that streamlines the logistics of modern family life and reduces the mental load for all.

  • As a founder of Jam Family Calendar—and as a working mom who has personally felt the weight of carrying the mental load—I can’t overstate how important this new research from The Fair Play Policy Institute and University of Southern California Dornsife is. The study quantifies what so many of us already know: the burden of anticipating, planning, and coordinating doesn’t just keep households running—it also leads to stress, burnout, and strained relationships, especially for mothers. As a self-proclaimed data nerd, I LOVE reading research like this. It’s so validating to see hard data back up the lived experiences of so many parents. It’s also why my co-founders and I created Jam: to do something about it. Jam is built to help families share the mental load more equitably. Whether it’s syncing schedules, managing to-dos, or simply making invisible tasks visible, we want to make it easier for everyone to take part. We’re inspired by The Fair Play Method’s mission to #MakeCareCount and honored to be part of the solution for families everywhere. Let’s continue to rethink how we support parents—at home, in the workplace, and in society. #MakeCareCount #FairPlayLife #PublicExchange

A groundbreaking study from The Fair Play Policy Institute and University of Southern California #PublicExchange quantifies the often-invisible burden of cognitive labor—and its impact is staggering. Mothers in the study were found to overwhelmingly take on the “invisible” work-anticipating, planning, and coordinating, leading to higher levels of stress, burnout, and relationship dissatisfaction. The Fair Play Method is the solution, and Jam helps put it into action. Jam was built by two working moms looking to create a tool to help turn this cognitive chaos into streamlined collaboration. Whether it’s syncing schedules, planning meals, or managing to-dos, Jam empowers families to share the mental load. Companies can (and should!) play a role in the solution by recognizing and addressing the mental load. When employers support parents through tools like Jam and frameworks like The Fair Play Method, productivity, morale, and retention skyrocket—especially for women in the workforce. Let’s empower parents to thrive. Together, we can #MakeCareCount. Read the full study here: https://lnkd.in/gCyM9dky #FairPlayLife #PublicExchange #EmployeeWellbeing #DEI #WorkLifeBalance
