  • We proudly joined the inaugural Purple Power Policy Summit hosted by NCNW in Washington, D.C. This convening—rooted in the legacy of trailblazing NCNW leaders who tirelessly fought against marginalization—created space for long-overdue, urgent conversations about education, the preservation of maternal health care, advocacy for seniors, and the power of collective action. Over three impactful days, we connected with national leaders and changemakers to explore policy solutions that strengthen the Black family. We remain committed to uplifting underrepresented communities and championing the needs of those we serve. 💙 🩷

  • We take a moment to honor this legacy in leadership. No matter your political leaning, we can all take pride in Senator Cory Booker's courage, conviction, and unwavering hope. In a moment that stands in direct contrast to Senator Strom Thurmond’s infamous attempt to block civil rights legislation decades ago, Senator Booker chose unity, justice, and progress. A new-age American patriot, he reminded us that leadership isn’t defined by opposition—but by purpose. “We need some energy now to redeem our dreams in this country,” Senator Booker said. “As citizens, we’re beginning to surrender to cynicism. Don’t shape your career and efforts on what you’re against or who you’re against. Start talking about what you are for and what we can do to heal and be amazing.” Senator Booker is an alumnus of the Bergen-Passaic Chapter in the great state of New Jersey, and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is honored to call him one of our own. His leadership reflects the very values we nurture in our children: courage, compassion, and a commitment to service. This is more than a headline—it’s a call to action and a reminder that the dream is still alive and ours to carry forward.

  • Today, the National Teen Board of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. joins the national movement to Take Down Tobacco. “As youth leaders, we are committed to advocating for informed choices and protecting our physical and mental health.” According to the American Heart Association, over 60% of teen vapers report experiencing symptoms of anxiety, and more than half show signs of depression. Vaping also harms the developing brain, affecting focus, impulse control, and long-term learning. We choose clarity, health, and purpose. #JJOANTB #ClearMindsBrightFutures #CTFK

  • The family of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. proudly recognizes World Cerebral Palsy Day as we stand with children and families impacted by cerebral palsy. We are dedicated to providing quality programming for all of our children, celebrating not disabilities but different abilities. Why we go green for cerebral palsy awareness: Cerebral palsy is the most common motor disability in childhood. Every child’s experience with cerebral palsy is unique in mobility, communication and strength. Awareness breaks barriers and promotes true inclusion. Advocacy ensures access, support and continued research for better outcomes. We believe every child’s ability is worth celebrating, and we remain committed to creating spaces where all of our children thrive. #CerebralPalsyAwareness #GoGreenForCP #WeGotUs

  • This weekend, we stirred up some #goodtrouble! On March 7, 1965, marchers faced tear gas and batons, yet they pressed forward. This weekend, we pressed on through the rain — a small reminder that no storm, past or present, can wash away our resolve. The struggle, the strength, the will to rise — it is in our DNA. More than 500 JJOA family members stood in solidarity and marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge to honor the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. In the footsteps of our ancestors, we walked with purpose because the fight for justice, dignity and human rights is far from over. We march, we organize, we stand together — harnessing the power of us, because we got us. #JJWeGotUs #BloodySunday

  • We’re grateful for the fellowship and reflection on a powerful Sunday in Selma. Our President, Darlene Whittington, joined NEB members NRS Tamika, NCS Vanessa, and ED Elizabeth from HQ, standing alongside the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi to honor the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. Moments like these remind us why we do the work—lifting as we climb and ensuring the next generation understands the legacy they inherit.. #JJWEGOTUS #Selma60

  • On this final day of Black History Month, we honor Shirley James—a visionary leader, dedicated educator, and longtime publisher of The Savannah Tribune, one of the nation’s oldest African American-owned weekly newspapers. Through her unwavering commitment to journalism, education, and civic engagement, she has left an indelible mark on history and the communities she serves. From 1994 to 1996, James led Jack and Jill of America, Inc. as our 15th National President, championing leadership development and service initiatives that continue to inspire generations of families. Beyond Jack and Jill, she preserved and amplified Black voices as the editor and publisher of The Savannah Tribune, ensuring the paper remained a beacon of truth, chronicling African American history, and advocating for equity and empowerment. Her work continues to shape the future, uplifting communities through storytelling, cultural preservation, and voter advocacy. Today, we celebrate her impact and the enduring eminence of her leadership. #JJBlackHistoryMakers

  • "The most valuable skill you can learn is how to learn." Tatia Granger, Ph.D., is a dedicated educator and leader whose contributions have left a lasting mark on Jack and Jill history and continue to shape the lives of university students. As a two-term president of the Hampton Chapter and the 2022 National Chair of the Leadership Training and Development Task Force, Dr. Granger redefined leadership development within JJOA. Her transformative work with the MSTLA Academy—under the forward-thinking leadership of PNVP Claudia Curtis—elevated the program from a one-day event to a yearlong journey of growth. Through assessments, immersive educational sessions, and collaborative challenges, she equipped mothers with tools to lead boldly within their chapters, communities, and beyond. She is also an associate professor of organizational behavior at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary, where she teaches both undergraduate and MBA students. “Tatia’s vision helped create an academy with a lasting, far-reaching impact—empowering moms with skills and insights they can apply not only within JJOA but in their daily lives. She embodies what it means to harness your power to make a difference,” said PNVP Claudia Curtis. We honor Tatia Granger, Ph.D., for her unwavering commitment to investing in the next generation of changemakers.
