Kids at Work Day is just around the corner! This event holds a special place in our hearts and we wanted to share an inspiring story that showcases its incredible impact. Ten years ago, Roy, a Field Supervisor for ITC, brought his daughter Kirsten to ITC’s Kids at Work Day. Little did they know, this experience would spark an interest in the utility industry for Kirsten. Fast forward to today, Kirsten is now a groundman for MJ Electric and she and Roy have had the unique opportunity to work side by side supporting some of ITC’s projects. 🌟We’re happy that Roy and Kirsten are part of the ITC family and can’t wait to see the next generation of young minds inspired at this year’s Kids at Work Day!

As the nation’s largest independent transmission company, ITC commends FERC’s recent approval enabling members from the Western Interconnection to join the SPP RTO. This is an important step in enhancing reliability for customers across an expanded SPP footprint. When ITC Midwest took over the electric transmission system serving more than two-thirds of Iowa, it had largely reached the end of its usable life and needed significant investment. We are pleased to share that through 2024, ITC Midwest’s investments, operational performance and maintenance activities have reduced the number of outages by 79%! 🦋 Last week, ITC Great Plains proudly celebrated our 11-acre pollinator habitat at the Thistle Substation near Medicine Lodge, Kansas! Planted in December 2023, this habitat supports threatened species like monarch butterflies and native bumblebees. The habitat also improves stormwater quality, reduces turf-grass maintenance and provides essential resources for pollinators.
