The Iowa Primary Care Association is accepting applications for the District Advisory Councils as part of Iowa's redesigned Behavioral Health System.   The responsibilities of the District Advisory Councils include: • Identifying opportunities and addressing challenges based on updates received from the Administrative Service Organization (ASO) regarding the implementation of the district behavioral health plan. • Advising the ASO while the ASO is developing BH policies. • Advising the ASO on how to best provide access to BH prevention, education, early intervention, treatment, recovery support, and crisis services related to mental health and addictive disorders, including but not limited to alcohol use, substance use, tobacco use, and problem gambling, throughout the district.   We're accepting applications now through February 25. Supporters from Iowa's community health centers met with our congressional delegation this week to advocate for our local communities and expanding access to primary care.   As a thank you to our Members of Congress for their support of the Health Center program, each office was presented with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)'s Community Health Advocate Award.   We are grateful for our delegation and their continued support of community health centers. We look forward to continuing to work together to enhance primary care across the country!
