  • Join us today for quarterly RRM Research Updates with Dr. Patrick Yeung, Founder & Medical Director of RESTORE: Center for Endometriosis, and Adjunct Professor at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. 📌 Topic: Research Updates – Repeat Surgery After Optimal Excision Surgery of Endometriosis at a Single Tertiary Referral Center 📅 Date: February 11 | ⏰ Time: 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM GMT 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gA6697iJ Dr. Yeung will present findings from his latest prospective cohort study, which evaluates the effectiveness of optimal excision surgery in reducing repeat surgery rates for endometriosis. The study reports a notably low repeat surgery rate of 2.5% (15 out of 620 patients) during the study period, compared to historical rates of 40-60% for ablation procedures (Bozdağ 2015). 🔍 The study also looked at the relationship between hormonal suppression use prior to surgery and the stage of endometriosis, finding no significant correlation, thereby suggesting that hormonal suppression does not prevent disease progression. Further research is recommended to substantiate these findings. 📄 Read the pre-print: Yeung, P., Mohan, A., & Gavard, J. (2024). The Long-term Rate of Repeat Surgery After Optimal Excision Surgery of Endometriosis at a Single Tertiary Referral Center. Preprints. Can't attend live? 💻 The article & recording will be available in the Member CME Portal tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/gJTPCwHT #Endometriosis #WomensHealth #RestorartiveReproductiveMedicine #ExcisionSurgery #IIRRMWebinar #RRMResearch
