  • April is Autism Acceptance Month. This month we celebrate the hard-fought acceptance of people with autism and acknowledge the difficult journey to get where we are today. During the civil rights era, people with autism organized and rallied alongside other people with disabilities to fight for their rights and acceptance. When the Nixon, Ford, and Carter administrations all refused to codify these rights, people with autism rallied again to fight for equitable treatment. Even today, people with autism face stereotypes and marginalization. Many people simply do not know a person with autism, or have only seen the problematic portrayals of autism in movies and TV. If you are someone with autism, we hope you feel encouraged to share your story and find acceptance in your community. If you are someone without autism, take the time to seek out these stories and learn more about how you can encourage acceptance at home, in the workplace, and in popular culture. April is Autism Acceptance Month, but encouraging acceptance should be year-round. #IRI #EverybodyWorks #MentorWorks #EmpoweredLiving #SelfDetermination #WAAM2025 #WAAM #AutismAcceptanceMonth #WAAD2025 #WAUD2025 #WAAD #AutismIs #WereHereAllYear #AccessToGoodJobsForAll ID: The first image is all text, it reads "April is Autism Acceptance Month." • Congratulations to Kennedy for winning Employee of the Month! 🎉 Kennedy has been with Home Depot for 5 years, where his hard work speaks for itself. In everything from cart collection to customer service, Kennedy's dedication and reliability shine through to customers and coworkers. Even though the year just started, this is already Kennedy's second award: he also won Employee of the Month for January! Kennedy also volunteers at Kingdom Food Pantry every Wednesday if he does not have a shift at work. He assists with food distribution and really enjoys going with his Coach, Leslee. "Working has allowed me to improve my speech and can communicate more clearly with customers and coworkers. When I’m not working, I like to stay active and busy, so I often collect bottles and cans. Other days I will volunteer at a local food bank with support from my Employment Coach. I like to help people and make people happy." - Kennedy Congratulations to Kennedy on a fantastic start to the year, we can't wait to see what he will achieve next! #IRI #EverybodyWorks #MentorWorks #EmpoweredLiving #SelfDetermination #DDAwareness2025 #DDAM #WereHereAllYear #AccessToGoodJobsForAll ID: The 1st photo is of a plaque. Neurodiversity in the workplace is a game-changer. And it’s clear why: Unique strengths? Absolutely. Neurodivergent employees bring fresh ideas and new ways of thinking. Creativity? Unmatched. They see problems differently and offer solutions others might miss. Inclusion? It’s not just nice to have. It’s essential for growth. When employers support neurodiversity, they unlock innovation. This benefits everyone in the company. Workplace culture improves. Team dynamics strengthen. Collaboration thrives. Supportive environments lead to happier employees. They feel valued and understood. This boosts retention and attracts top talent. Employers who invest in neurodiversity see real rewards. It's about creating spaces where all minds can shine. This isn’t just good for business. It’s good for society. Let’s commit to making our workplaces inclusive for all. #NeurodiversityAtWork #InclusiveHiring #DiversityStrengthens #APSE

  • Yesterday's Adult Transition Planning Event was a success! 🎉 Our Director of Services, Roxanna, helped organize this countywide transition fair geared towards individuals currently participating in an Adult Transition Program through their local school district. And several IRI managers stepped up to support—whether assisting with registration or representing us at our exhibitor table. Plus, Roxanna and fellow Director of Services, Maki, shared their expertise on a panel about employment services! We're proud to be part of such an important event helping individuals plan for their futures, and thank you to all who attended. #IRI #EverybodyWorks #MentorWorks #EmpoweredLiving #SelfDetermination #AdultTransitionPlanning #EmpoweringTransitions #BuildingFutures #AccessToGoodJobsForAll #DDAM #DDAwareness2025 #WereHereAllYear Image Descriptions can be found in Alt Text.
