Many patients who are at a high risk for developing lung cancer should get screened for the disease. A UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial expert answers common questions about low-dose computed tomography, or LDCT screening, which can help doctors detect lung cancer in its early stages. https://lnkd.in/gTVsGw2V

Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., but it doesn't have to be. A colonoscopy can detect and remove precancerous polyps before they can develop into cancer. UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial offers a Virtual Colonoscopy (CT Colonography) for patients at average risk that's: Less invasive than a traditional colonoscopy Requires no sedation Quicker, usually done in 15 minutes If polyps are found, a same-day follow-up colonoscopy is done without additional prep. If you're 45 or older, it's time to take this life-saving step. Talk to your doctor and schedule your screening today!

Ms. Petite Illinois Brionna Middlebrooks, a nurse at Ingalls Memorial, spent the day at Comer Children's Hospital playing bingo with our littlest patients and reading her new children's book, "A Taste of Kindness: Maggie's Culinary Journey," during a special storytime.
