From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been fulfilling. When we are secure on our inclusive journey, we are willing to share ourselves with others. In Phase Four: Review Weekly, we are empowered to review, reframe, and reposition ourselves day-to-day for continuous growth and development. --- REVIEW WEEKLY: We cannot leverage what we do not see; thus, we review our week to seek out leveraging points to end the week on a positive note. --- REFRAMING POWER: When we are inclusive, we recognize the power to reframe anything we encounter to our advantage. --- REPOSITIONING LONGEVITY: From an organizational perspective for longevity purposes, we must have the right people in place. We reposition ourselves and others. It is so empowering to live an inclusive life. We don’t have to be all things to everybody because inclusion can fill in the gaps. We are more than enough. We are extraordinary! Enjoy the week! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseFourReviewWeekly #inclusiveliving

About us
Inclusion on the Slopes is a research-based consulting business that inspires individuals and organizations to become inclusive authentically. We do this by bringing a humanistic lens to consulting services, workshops, and participation in various events throughout the outdoor community with the intention to share the joy of inclusion. Our VISION at IOTS is for EVERYONE on snow. Our MISSION is to inspire individuals and organizations to become inclusive authentically. We have both internal and external aspects to fulfill our vision and mission. First, INTERNALLY we concentrate on offering consulting services for organizations that intend to create more inclusive organizations by utilizing Dr. Gerilyn Davis's SWORD © Inclusion system. Second, EXTERNALLY we participate and host events for those who are well represented in the industry and not so well represented in the industry to come TOGETHER. These events include training, workshops, lecture series, and celebratory events that promote engagement through more inclusive efforts.

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Wednesday! I hope you are feeling immersed this week. When we are fully engaged in inclusion opportunities, we can't help but feel the flow that our immersion brings. In Phase Three: Opportunity Planning, we have a loose-tight model, where we flex where we need to while maintaining the connection to our larger purpose. We stay in our inclusive flow. --- EXPECT UNEXPECTED: With inclusion, we have more perspectives that allow us to scenario plan. Thus, we can expect the unexpected. --- BUILD MOMENTUM: We keep building momentum around the vision. The tactics may change; however, the vision remains the same. --- STRENGTHEN CONNECTION: Our relationships deepen because we are figuring it out all together. We share a common bond that can ground us. When we tap into what we are truly capable of, opportunities occur. We’ve navigated uncertainty before, and we can do it again. Enjoy the day! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseThreeOpportunityPlanning #inclusiveliving

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Thursday! I hope you are feeling the thirst for life! When we can reflect on how far we have come, we know there is no need to limit ourselves to this moment. In Phase Four: Review Weekly, we put our efforts to the test by making them manageable. Week by week, we review to reflect and reframe. --- DO BOTH: We connect to like-minded people for support and non-like-minded people for expansion. --- RECALIBRATE THE VISION: While the vision may remain the same, our tactics may differ. We honor the contrast for what it provides, which is perspective. --- INCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE: We understand that once we experience inclusion, it becomes us. We don't force inclusion; we desire it. While we make adjustments based on our current climate, we can still iterate on the strength of the human spirit. We get to choose how we respond. Inspiration is only one thought away. Enjoy the moment! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseFourReviewWeekly #inclusiveliving

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Wednesday! I hope you are feeling advantageous. Inclusion counts when we tap into the opportunities it provides while nurturing relationships to do so. In Phase Three: Opportunity Planning, we execute our plans with inclusion as a focus. We witness firsthand the efficiencies and ability to navigate uncertainty and complexity. --- INNOVATION CATALYST: When done right, inclusion leverages uncertainty as a catalyst for collaboration, creativity, and innovation. --- ORGANIZATIONAL SHIFTS: Inclusion is like a muscle. We keep giving it attention; we become stronger because of it. Organizational shifts happen. --- GO SLOW TO GO FAST: We slow down to see what comes from our inclusive intention. In turn, we speed up our ability to get things done. Considering relationship-building is at the forefront, we trust people to be themselves. We make space for people to display their strengths. We then realize that with inclusion, there isn’t anything we can’t navigate. Enjoy the day! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseThreeOpportunityPlanning #inclusiveliving

Inclusion on the Slopes reposted this
This is what community looks like at SOS Outreach. It's individuals from across organizations, schools, communities, ages and background who step forward together with a shared belief in the awesomeness of our kids and the power of the outdoors to create impact. Together, we're engaging 3,400 kids across 15 communities this year alone. On Saturday, we celebrated our final on mountain day of the year for our Denver Mentor program at Loveland Ski Area complete with a parking lot bbq and massive cheers and high fives. We had leadership from our board of directors and multiple partner brands join us for the day to recognize all that was accomplished this year and all that will be accomplished ahead. We're just getting started and here's to all that our community will make happen. We are stronger together. From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Tuesday! I hope you feel fulfilled. Inclusion can be so fulfilling when we can contribute. In Phase Two: Why, we iterate on what it means to share our expertise. The SOS Outreach Board of Directors is seeking new board directors. Here are a few things to consider. --- JOY OF CONTRIBUTION: Several board members (Travis Tafoya, Andrew Ching, and Damon Morris) attended the Loveland Ski event, and we all knew we were contributing by being there. --- BIGGER THAN OURSELVES: By providing youth with skills that prepare them for life, we contribute to something bigger than ourselves. --- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Being on the board allows us to develop as professionals. We grow because of our interactions with each other. I connect with the SOS Outreach youth because I was these youth. I didn’t grow up in the best of circumstances. Nevertheless, I made the best out of my circumstances. These youth can do the same. Enjoy the week! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseTwoWhy #SOSOutreach #BoardEngagement

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Monday to you! I hope you are feeling valued and appreciated. I truly love people and appreciate them. There is value in taking time to feel connected to oneself and others. In Phase One: Strengths, we iterate on the value we provide each other. I attended SOS Outreach last ride day at Loveland Ski Area. Here are a few things that came to my attention. --- EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY: When we connect to a community, we remember our value, meaning, and purpose. --- LEVERAGE COMMUNITY: We understand the purpose of community and rely on it to give us perspectives we couldn’t have had on our own. --- EXPANDING COMMUNITY: The community reminds us that it is never too late to find meaning in those connections and to expand the community further. We are all in community with each other. However, something uniquely happens when we do it with an inclusive intention; the magic happens. Enjoy the day! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionsincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseOneStrengths #inclusivecommunity

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Friday, part 2! I hope that you have something fun planned for the weekend. When joy is at the forefront of our inclusion journey, well-being increases. In Phase Five: Daily Assessment of the SWORD Inclusion System, I reflect on being able to speak at the Outdoor Diversity Alliance gathering this past Tuesday. I enjoyed it immensely. --- REFRAME OUR NARRATIVE: By reframing our narrative, we can lessen the resistance to inclusivity and demonstrate the value it provides. Meritocracy becomes a given because we know our purpose. --- RECLAIM THE NARRATIVE: By focusing on strength-based inclusion, we ensure everyone can experience the impact of inclusivity. --- LIVE INCLUSIVELY: Living an inclusive life embraces the whole of who we are. We embrace our expansion because we've done it before; thus, we can do it again. As I mentioned in my speech, “You can’t put the baby back in the belly.” The need for inclusion isn’t going anywhere. Inclusion is a necessity to thrive. Isn’t that what we are here to do anyway?! From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Friday! I hope you are winding down from the week. While there is a lot of uncertainty, we can prepare for uncertainty by leveraging our connections. In Phase Five: Daily Assessment, I think of the connections I made attending the Snowsports Industries America Global Summit. I loved reconnecting with them while fostering new connections. --- CONNECTIONS MATTER: Our ability to connect is what makes inclusion so valuable. We need access to perspectives we wouldn't have otherwise. --- AUTHENTIC REPRESENTATION: When we show up authentically, it gives others permission to show up authentically as well. --- KEEP CONNECTING: When we rekindle the connection, we may be surprised by how we've grown. We see inclusion opportunities daily when we focus on inclusive living. We begin to cherish our experiences and want more. I couldn't imagine living any other way. Have a great weekend! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #inclusionincludesyoutoo #InclusionontheSlopes #SWORDInclusionSystem #PhaseFiveDailyAssessment #inclusiveliving

From the desk of Dr. Gerilyn Davis: Happy Thursday! I hope you are feeling the thrill of the week. I find it thrilling to witness the value that inclusion provides. Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of speaking on the SOS Outreach Career Development panel. This event reminded me that our stories are meant to be shared. --- IT’S NEVER TOO LATE: Reminding the youth that it’s never too late to pivot and make adjustments on our journey. It's what life is all about. --- START w/CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE: Reiterating the value of starting where we are can give us access to uncovering our purpose at any moment. --- REVISIT THRIVING: When we pay attention to what puts us in thriving mode, we can build momentum for more opportunities. Connecting with the youth and fellow board members (Travis Tafoya and Andrew Ching) while listening to the youth’s sustainability presentation was so much fun! Considering that the youth have our future solutions, investing in them will make us sustainable. It's a win/win every time.
