Makayla’s life changed in an instant—a backflip with friends in her backyard ended in a paralyzing accident, shattering her dreams as a high school cheerleader. Recovery would never mean walking again, but she refused to let her wheelchair define her. Two years later, a swollen leg sent her back to the hospital, where doctors discovered a severe case of deep vein thrombosis (#DVT) and May-Thurner syndrome, conditions that threatened her limb.
