This year's 3rd annual Women in Manufacturing event hosted by Utah Manufacturers Association was the best one yet. 👏 👏 Great turn out, speakers, food, and recognitions. We are so glad individuals on our team were able to attend and connect with Utah's fantastic community of women in manufacturing. You know what the coolest thing was about last week’s All-Women Pit Crew Challenge? The ambition! These women learned that a team recently broke the Pit Crew Challenge record, completing the tire swap in 27 seconds. Their time goal? 32 seconds.💨 We love that confidence! Even though they had less time iterating on the tire swap, and less experience than other teams with power tools and tires, they shaved a full minute off of their times. Utah is getting closer to on-demand travel. And we got a glimpse of what it might look like on Monday. Last year, our friends at 47G announced the launch of Project Alta, known as the Air Logistics Transportation Alliance. The project wants to establish "advanced air mobility system" for the state. This will be a new way of transportation using electric aircraft to move people and packages throughout the state. BETA TECHNOLOGIES is a Vermont-based electric aircraft and charging manufacturer that signed a memorandum of understanding with 47G in January that opened the door for electric flight in Utah. On Monday, it kicked off six days of demonstration flights across the state to showcase its electric ALIA aircraft. ALIA (seen in the pictures - thanks Justin Hawkes) has the ability to transport up to five passengers or 1,250 pounds of cargo. Flights will start with cargo deliveries, beginning over the next few years, eventually moving to air taxis for passenger travel.

Bottlenecks aren’t dramatic—they’re subtle, sneaky, and maddeningly persistent. Think about the handoff between your design team and production: if a spec sheet sits in someone’s inbox for an extra hour, that’s an hour your machines aren’t running. Or consider your inventory process—maybe your team spends 10 minutes hunting for a misplaced tool because the storage system’s a mess. Multiply that by dozens of tasks a day, and you’re bleeding time you can’t afford to lose. We’ve worked with Utah manufacturers who swore their operations were “lean enough,” only to find that a single outdated approval step was holding up entire production runs. These aren’t glaring failures; they’re the kind of hiccups you don’t notice until they’ve already cost you. What a ride it’s been with our "Marketing for Manufacturers" series! We made a few stops around Utah, bringing the magic of storytelling to business and manufacturing leaders. These events have been about helping marketing pros, sales teams, and execs level up their game. We dove into the psychology of story (think character, conflict, resolution) and learned how to craft narratives that actually connect with customers. Attendees walked away with real strategies to share their brand’s unique value across email, websites, social media, and video. We are really grateful to Chad Jardine and Catherine Bennett for leading the discussions and making these workshops fun.
